What is ISO 9001?
BS EN ISO 9001 specifies the requirements for a quality management system which enables an organisation to succeed by effectively managing their business, meeting their customers' requirements, motivating staff and providing continual improvement. This standard is required by any organisation that wishes to:

  • Demonstrate its ability to consistently provide product that meets customer requirements.
  • Demonstrate its ability to meet applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Enhance customer satisfaction.

Existing users of ISO 9001:2000 are required to upgrade their systems to ISO 9001:2008. By the end of 2010, existing certification issued to ISO 9001:2000 will no longer be valid.

We have implemented this standard for a number of clients across varying industries and services. Previous clients have come from the importation industry, the manufacturing industry and general sevices.

What is ISO/TS 16949?
ISO/TS 16949 is an ISO technical specification aligning existing US, German, French and Italian automotive quality system standards within the global automotive industry. The quality system requirements for the design/development, production, installation and servicing of automotive-related products are specified by this standard. Many vehicle manufacturers insist that suppliers adhere to the specifications within this standard and that certification to this standard is imperative. This standard is applicable to any organisation that:

  • Produces automotive production or service parts.

We have extensive experience with implementing and maintaining this standard. Our previous clients have included suppliers to the world's largest automotive manufacturers including Ford, VW, Renault and Nissan.

What is ISO 14001?
BS EN ISO 14001 provides the framework for an environmental management system thus enabling an organisation to control the environmental impacts of its activities, products and services. It also enables the organisation to continuously improve its environmental performance. This standard is applicable to any organisation that would like to:

  • Implement, maintain and improve an environmental management system.
  • Ensure conformance with its own stated environmental policy.
  • Demonstrate such conformance to others.
  • Seek certification or registration of its environmental management system by an external organisation.
  • Make a self-declaration of conformance with this international standard.

This is a standard we have implemented in tandem with ISO/TS 16949 which has enabled our clients to achieve Ford Q1 status. Our previous clients have again included supplers to the world's largest automotive manufacturers including Ford, VW, Renault and Nissan.

What is your availability at short notice?
JB Quality Consultant (Essex) will always attempt to suit the client's needs should this be possible. We recognise that unforseen situations can arise and will endeavour to re-organise our own admin/office time to make sure we can start working within a 5-7 day period. We offer this flexibility as standard (where possible) and therefore do not attempt to penalise out clients by incorporating a 'short notice fee' into our contracts.

What is your availability for larger projects?
JB Quality Consultant (Essex) will work to a deadline as agreed at our initial consultation. At this time, we will organise a schedule that best suits the client and book any onsite time in advance, ensuring diary reservations are made to benefit the project. Large projects requiring onsite consultancy of two or more days per week can be catered for, but will usually have to be booked in advance.

Why choose a consultant over a full-time member of staff?
A consultant can provide a greater flexible working practice; this allows the client to avoid costly agency fees and a good salary that would be required to employ high quality staff. Once the work has been completed and a system has been accredited, a consultant can be called upon when needed, but does not require continued salary payments or other expensive employee related costs, such as employers' NIC, pension, holiday pay etc. A consultant can also bring a wider knowledge to the project, gained from working with a broad client base.

Which areas do you cover?
We offer a global service; from our base in the South East of England, we can cater for any size organisation across the U.K. or the world. We have extensive experience in suiting our sevice to our clients' needs, with recent work being completed in Japan, Iran and Turkey.

What about our confidentiality?
JB Quality Consultant (Essex) have great respect for our clients' confidentiality; we treat all work with the strictest confidence and sign our customers' own confidentiality policies where required.
